Paleo Cookie and Snack Products
There are a few different companies out there making paleo snack and cookie products. I’ve been curious about what the various offerings tasted like, so I went ahead and bought some of all of them. For your benefit, I’ve provided some information about the companies, the product ingredients, and my personal taste-test opinion.
PaleoBrands – Paleo Brands started with an observation and a desire to literally change the world. The observation was that simple nutritional changes can lead to remarkable health improvements, and can even reverse disease.

What is it like? These cookies were firm, but not crumbly. Chilling them in the refrigerator for a little bit was really nice. They are about palm sized, and chewy, with a slight sweet taste, like raisin bread.
PaleoKits – Fuel for your journey – Steve’s Original is, at its core, about journeys. Their story is the result of years of searching for a healthier way to live; and eat. Their “Originals” are about the journey that we all take to find a better way to live our lives and fuel our bodies.

PaleoTreats – Paleo treats are cookies and chocolate bars made for followers of the Paleo diet. Like cage-fighting for your mouth, best enjoyed on the side of a mountain while you watch the thunderheads roll in and prepare for nature to wash you clean of your sins and shiver away your fears, paleo treats are for those who enjoy the intensities of life.

I can’t really say anything bad about any of these snack products. Overall, I think the Mac Attack was my favorite. Since eating paleo more often I’ve really grown to love the taste of coconut.
I’ve looked over the ingredients thoroughly, and I believe these companies have done their best to make a fully “paleo” product, while still coming up with a snack that actually tastes good. I certainly had a fun time taste-testing them all… Just be sure to keep your budget in mind when you buy them. I’d regard them as gourmet or specialty treats, not something to binge on while watching a football game. Bon appétit!

I thought the Mac Attack was delicious, but I ended up eating all of what I bought in one sitting lol…
LOL, that’s pretty much what I was doing. I had to consciously will myself to stop eating all of them before I got all the info and photos I needed.
As Dr. Kurt says…candy cigarettes. Though I imagine that when I have kids these things might be useful. I mean kids are going to want candy and while these aren’t *that* healthy, they are better than normal candy.
Melissa´s last [type] ..Hormones in beef- a thought
Was this just meant to feature ‘sweets’? I find the original PaleoKit from Steve’s to be really good. I think the loose Paleo Krunch with some berries and coconut milk is dangerously good. I have to agree with you – these can get expensive. I’ll definitely have to check out the Paleo Treats products. Thanks for the reviews.
Kevin, yes my intention was to compare similar products so I only mentioned ones that were intended as treats / desserts and such. I consider the trail mix kits to be closer to meal replacement, rather than dessert.
Hi David,
Thanks for the review and feedback! Yep, they’re designed to be delicious so it’s easy to eat a few extra. Gotta be disciplined and stay hard, using ‘em as treats and not meals.
Keep on chargin’!
